18th Annual Pumpkin Festival Hosted By Kidspace

Children enjoying last years pumpkin festival

Kidspace Children’s Museum will host the 18th Annual Pumpkin Festival on October 27-28, 2012, in Brookside Park, directly in front of Kidspace Children’s Museum.  Festival hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.  Festival admission is free and the community is invited.

Last year, more than 20,000 people attended from the greater Los Angeles area.  Live musical performances, selected crafts, promotional giveaways at the Radio Disney tent, and a photo opportunity at the pumpkin patch are all free.  Tickets are available for purchase to enjoy the bouncers, pony rides, carnival type games, food, as well as many other attractions.  Children can make fall crafts, have their faces painted, and select a pumpkin from our pumpkin patch.  Additionally, there will be a petting zoo, and parents will love the great prices at the used costume and book sale!

Dressing up in your Halloween costume is encouraged, but not mandatory.

The Pumpkin Festival is organized by the Museum’s volunteer support group, Circle of Friends, and offers even the youngest child a fun and safe way to celebrate the fall season.  The spirit of inclusivity and outreach is a major part of the Pumpkin Festival.  Thanks to the generous support of Kidspace donors, more than 350 scholarship children from groups such as Urban Compass, Mother’s Club, Hillside, and CoachArt will be given tickets to enjoy the entire event for free.

Mr. Pasadena says- ” Without a doubt this is a signature Pasadena event for the whole family. If you have a child between the ages of 3 to 10, this is the event for you.  So make plans to come on down to the pumpkin festival, I promise if you come this weekend, you will make plans for the years to come”

Free parking is available in Lots I and J, in Brookside Park, adjacent to the Rose Bowl. For more information, visit: www.kidspacemuseum.org/pumpkin or visit the Pumpkin Festival’s Facebook page.
