This just in….. Help Choose the Flavor of Pasadena’s Birthday Cake!

From my good friends at the Pasadena Museum of History:

The public is invited to determine the flavor of the birthday cake that Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts is creating for Pasadena’s 125th birthday celebration in June.

Today, May 6, Chefs from Le Cordon Bleu will have free samples of the three flavor “finalists” for this very special creation. Stop by Garfield Promenade at Paseo Colorado between 12:00 Noon and 1:00 pm to sample and cast your ballots.

The flavors vying for public approval are:

Orange Grove Cake: Orange Chiffon Cake, Orange Chocolate Ganache filling, candied Orange Swiss Butter Cream and Candied Oranges.

Overload Cake: Marble Cake, Chocolate Bavarian Cream, Chocolate Chips, Raspberry Jam, Ganache Icing.

Tuxedo Cake: White Cake, Chocolate Cake, White Chocolate Mousse and Fudge filling, whipped Vanilla Chantilly Cream and Chocolate Ganache.

The winning flavor will be announced when the design for this spectacular confectionary creation is revealed to the public on May 25.

The birthday cake will be served during the free community celebration, Happy Birthday Pasadena – Celebrating 125 Years, on Saturday, June 11 at Pasadena Museum of History.  Mayor Bogaard and other dignitaries will make the first cut at 3:00 pm, after which Chefs will serve party attendees until the last piece is gone.   The seven hours of festivities, from 12 Noon to 7:00 pm, also feature free entertainment and activities for all ages showcasing Pasadena’s richly diverse population, organizations and talent.  Happy Birthday Pasadena – Celebrating 125 Years is presented by Pasadena Museum of History in partnership with the City of Pasadena and with generous support of numerous individuals, businesses, and community organizations.
